Kyle Busch won the Nascar Monster Energy Cup Series race at Richmond Saturday night. The win clinches Busch a spot in the second round of the playoffs along with Brad Keselowski. Defending series champion Martin Truex, Jr. has also clinched a spot in the next round based on points. The drivers head to Charlotte to make their debut on the new road-course configuration Sunday at 1pm on WBUT. Four drivers will be eliminated from championship contention after the race. Currently, Clint Bower, Erik Jones, Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin are below the cut-off line.
Ryan Newman announced over the weekend he will be moving to Roush-Fenway Racing to driver the number-six car next season. He will replace Trevor Bayne and Matt Kenseth who shared the ride this season. Owner Jack Roush confirmed Bayne will not return to the organization next year. Kenseth has also decided he will not return full-time to Nascar.
