Girls Soccer:–Butler fell to Pine-Richland 6-1.
–North Allegheny defeated Seneca Valley 3-0. N.A. improved to 4-0. The Raiders drop to 3-1.
–Gateway over Knoch 2-0.
–Mars shutout Armstrong 10-0.
–Freeport-5 Valley-0. Sidney Shemanski and Emma Check scored twice for the Yellow Jackets. Freeport is hosting Karns City tonight in a non-section match.
Girls Golf:
–Butler defeated Kiski Area 178-242. Paige Scott was medalist with a 39 for Butler, who will host Armstrong today at Hiland.
–North Allegheny defeated Penn-Trafford 166-192.
Boys Golf:
–Seneca Valley-188 Shaler-234.
Girls Tennis:
WPIAL Section Singles: Butler’s #1 singles player Reagan Sommariva advanced to the semifinals Wednesday. She won a first round match over Seneca Valley’s Haley Davenziner 10-0, then defeated Emily Ivory of Mars 10-7 in the second round. Play resumes today at 1pm at North Allegheny high school.
The Butler Junior High Cross Country teams were swept in a dual meet with Mars and Pine-Richland. Carmen Skal led the Butler Girls, Joel McCloskey led the Butler Boys.
