The St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates last night 11-5. Pirates starting pitcher Joe Musgrove took the loss. He allowed four runs over six innings. He walked two and struck out eight. Miles Mikolas held the Bucs to one run over seven innings for his 15th win of the season. Corey Dickerson and Josh Bell led the Pirates with two hits each. The Bucs stranded 13 runners.
The Pirates were able to rebound with a 4-3 victory in the final game of this series. Jameson Taillon picked up the win with seven innings of two run ball while Felipe Vazquez gave up one run over the final two innings to nail down a save. Outfielder Jordan Luplow picked up three hits while catcher Jacob Stallings drove in three of the Bucco runs.
