The pipeline that exploded in Beaver County on Monday originates in Butler County.
The 24-inch methane gas pipeline- owned by Dallas-based Energy Transfer Partners- begins in northern Butler County and leads to Washington County.
The company believes weather events may be to blame for the explosion and subsequent fire. The explosion rocked Center Township, Beaver County about 5 a.m. Monday, sending a huge orange fire ball into the sky and prompting the evacuation of more than two dozen homes.
No one was hurt. Flames did destroy one home, two garages and several vehicles.
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission says their investigation is in its very early stages.
