The Butler High School Girls Volleyball team won their annual Spikefest Saturday, defeating Kiski 2-0 in the final match. Leading Butler were Maria Lucas with 22 kills and 21 digs. Julia Gibson had 19 kills. Tabitha Walker had 18 kills and 44 digs. Hope Fiorina had 42 digs. The Golden Tornado travel to Pine-Richland to open section play tonight.
The Butler County Community Golfers participated in an indivdual match Friday at Valley Green Golf and Country Club in Greensburg. Shawn Gray, a Butler graduate and Luke Ostermeyer of Laurel high school were the low Pioneers with 87’s. Their next match is Friday at the Links at Spring Church in Apollo.
