The Hampton Talbots won their season and home opener against the Knoch Knights 28-8. Hampton started the scoring in the first quarter with a 23-yard touchdown pass play and after one quarter of play, Hampton led 7-0. Hampton scored the only points in the second quarter with an 18-yard run and at the half Hampton led 14-0. Knoch got on the board first in the third quarter with a safety by bad snap from the Hampton center at his own 5-yard line. With Knoch getting the ball back after the safety score, the Knights, scored on 43-yard touchdown run but the point after conversion was blocked by the Talbots. After three quarters of play, Hampton now led 14-8. In the fourth quarter, Hampton scored the only points in the quarter with two touchdowns runs. The first was a 10-yard run and the second touchdown was an 11-yard run. Hampton is now 1-0 overall and Knoch is 0-1 overall. The Knoch Knights are back in action next Friday night as the play the Blackhawk Cougar on the road in Blackhawk.
